The Wisconsin Biodiesel Association (WBA) was founded in December of 2006. Its progenitor – the “Biodiesel Roundtable” - was created by the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) and a small contingent of Wisconsin biofuels educators, agribusiness interests, and business entrepreneurs. Their mission from the beginning was “to increase the availability, demand, capacity, and viability of Wisconsin produced biodiesel as an expansion of Wisconsin’s bioindustry.”
We’re Leaders! The Wisconsin Biodiesel Association (WBA) was established in March of 2007. Its progenitor – the “Biodiesel Roundtable” – was created by the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) and a small contingent of Wisconsin biofuels educators, agribusiness interests, industry leaders and entrepreneurs. Its mission was to offer a forum on increasing the availability, demand, capacity, and viability of Wisconsin produced biodiesel. We’re Focused and Effective!WBA plays a leadership role as a trade organization representing and promoting Wisconsin’s biodiesel industry. We focus on biodiesel as bioindustry and on renewable fuels’ contribution to rural economic development, sustainability, energy independence and environmental health. We’re Inclusive!WBA‘s Mission and Vision recognizes a broad base of stakeholders impacted by commercial development, production, marketing, distribution, and use of biodiesel and other renewable biofuels in Wisconsin. WBA creates stakeholder alliances that include farm producers and biodiesel manufacturers; commercial fuel distributors and end users; environmentalists and industry. These interests work together to ensure biodiesel supports Wisconsin’s pursuit of renewable fuels and energy independence. We’re involved! We are becoming the “go-to” association representing biodiesel in Wisconsin. With assistance from the Wisconsin Soybean Association, WBA assumed industry leadership regarding a promising biodiesel legislative agenda for the biennial state budget. WBA also launched an aggressive educational program to raise the awareness of biodiesel and other alternative fuels. These legislative, educational and promotional efforts will ensure Wisconsin consumers have access to quality, renewable biofuels.
